Chris Lechner has been based in Bern since 2013, where he lives and works with his wife Sunita Asnani. He was born in Burma and grew up in India.

After a career as a soloist in the Hamburg and Zurich dance companies and in the Stuttgart Ballet, he has been a freelance artist since 1996, incorporating a wide variety of approaches from the areas of new bodywork and performance art into his work. He is particularly interested in the potential of interdisciplinary collaboration.

He works as a performer with a preference for experiments and labs that combine questions of aesthetics and social relevance with the crossover of art and new areas of application.

association president

Myrielle Hitz is a doctor. She was born in Germany and has been at home in Switzerland and Bern since 2006.

Her passion for movement and dance began with ballet and modern dance at the age of 6. In 2007 she took a break from medicine and trained in "Contact Improvisation" and "Axis Syllabus" in the USA and Europe.

The insatiable curiosity for the connection between movement and mechanics and the love for medicine finally brought her to orthopedics and traumatology of the musculoskeletal system. Today she is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery in her own practice in Bern.

At bend-it, she volunteers as the president of the association.
